Charlie
YounghusbandI'm currently working at a place called Xiphos Technologies in Montreal. Very, very cool stuff. I love it. I work on networking technologies for interesting problems involving networks and space technologies. I'm leading work and commercialization of a technololgy called XipLink.
I'm a graduate of electrical engineering at Carleton University. I did a minor in business.
I like living both in urban and nature. This leads me to live in downtown Montreal but make it to the cottage as often as I can.
I enjoy a variety of sports, and am generally midly competent at any sport found in North America. Mostly I stick to hockey, skiing, tennis and swimming.
Then there is the travel. I like to travel. Africa and South America are still on the list.
About me
I'm not a morning person. I do enjoy late night movies. I'm sure there
is no connection. My friend Andy behaves similarily. He once described
it as 'activity momentum'. I think that's probably really accurate.
Once I get on a roll, working, sleeping, whatever, I just keep going.
In the summer, the saying 'I thought I wanted a career,
turns out all I wanted was the paychecks' is too true.
I have a lot of opinions, all of them the exactly the right ones. Just
ask me.
I enjoy my work. I think I'd be really bad at any job
that I don't like. A favorite quote
of mine is by Abraham Lincoln; "Whatever you are, be a good one."
"Small minds discuss people. Average minds discuss events.
Bright minds discuss ideas." That's not a rule,
but I find it interesting to think about. Conversations about
ideas leave you with the most at the end of it.
I dislike advanced calculus. Strongly. I thought I was pretty good
at math
until I got to eletrical engineering calculus and I learned otherwise.
I love networks. I play with TCP/IP a lot.
My
5 minutes of fame. Heh.My views on religions.
One of the best all time hacks.
B-Bye!
